Date: 30th August, 2024- The Consultation Meeting for Mapping of Services and Interventions for Child and Adolescent Mental Health

To effectively map and plan for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, it’s crucial to recognize the interconnection between promoting mental health, preventing disorders, and ensuring child protection, all of which contribute to overall mental well-being. Adopting a life-course approach, we must focus on creating supportive policies, implementing prevention strategies, and ensuring the availability of quality treatment services, all backed by skilled professionals and a reliable information system.

The PEMA in collaboration with UNICEF Bhutan organized a consultative multi-stakeholder meeting aimed at improving Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. During this meeting, representatives from government agencies, civil society organizations, and development partners assessed current policies, legislation, services, human resources, and information systems to identify gaps and guide future planning and investment efforts. The meeting was graced by Hon’ble Dasho Dechen Wangmo, Head of The PEMA.

The PEMA extends its gratitude to all the partners who participated and contributed to building supportive communities and ensuring that quality mental health services are accessible to everyone.
