Date: 7th May, 2024- Health and Wellbeing Screening System

In efforts to improve prevention and early identification, The PEMA in collaboration with CECD of MoESD conducted Training of Trainers (TOT) for 23 School Counselors representing 19 Dzongkhags and four Thromdes for two days from 19-20th April 2024. The school counselors were trained on how to use the Health and Wellbeing Screening System which is a system to facilitate mental health professionals and trained professionals to conduct mental health screening.

The training program was conducted to pilot the system to these counselors since schools are one of the stakeholders and users for the system.

The main objectives of creating this system are:
  1. To promote mental health and wellbeing through early identification and intervention services.
  2. To institute early identification mechanisms using standard screening tools and establish a robust treatment services and referral ecosystem.

These trained School counselors will later train the other school counselors under their respective Dzongkhags and Thromdes. The system is currently being developed by DrukSmart Private Limited firm with funding support from UNICEF.
