clinical training program on hospital-based Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment

A week-long clinical training program on hospital-based Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment concluded yesterday at the PEMA Rehabilitation Centre, with closing remarks by Dasho Dechen Wangmo.
The training focused on comprehensive assessment, case management formulation, and referral processes for SUD clients. These are key components of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) developed by The PEMA Secretariat to streamline referral pathways and strengthen the continuum of care for individuals with substance use disorders.
This ongoing initiative is part of a broader effort to systematically enhance the competencies of clinical counselors and Mental Health Outreach Workers (MHOWs) across the country, ensuring more effective, compassionate, and coordinated treatment for those in need.
The next session will train a second cohort, which will also include members of the MAP from the MOESD.🇧🇹🪷✨
