Under the gracious leadership of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, we have received a light that illuminates our path and purpose. It often makes me reflect on the rare and profound dimensions of leadership that women and girls bring into our livesโthe quiet strength, wisdom, compassion and nurturing spirit that completes the circle.
As we celebrate the auspicious birth anniversary of Her Royal Highness Gyalsem Sonam Yangden Wangchuck, I feel an even deeper sense of hope for the future. Bhutan is a nation defined by Gross National Happiness, where progress is measured not only by what we achieve, but by how we nurture the spiritual, emotional and wellbeing of our people.
In this journey, the presence of Her Royal Highness feels like a beautiful continuation of that promise, a reminder of the wisdom and compassion that the feminine spirit brings to our nation.
Every child who grows with the freedom to dream, to find their voice and to realise their fullest potential adds to the happiness and strength of Bhutan; and when our daughters grow up believing that their dreams matter, they carry with them the hopes and prayers of an entire nation.
Perhaps, therefore, every prayer offered today for Her Royal Highness is also a prayer for all the daughters of Bhutanโfor their happiness, their courage, their dreams and their place in shaping the Bhutan of tomorrow.
On this most auspicious day, may Her Royal Highness be blessed with good health, boundless happiness and a life filled with love and purpose; and may her journey, in her own time and in her own beautiful way, become part of Bhutanโs larger journey forward, carrying with it the enduring essence, spirit and promise of wellbeing. Happy birthday la.
Humbly,
Dechen Wangmo
